Santa Fe Texas Real Estate and Community Information

Santa Fe, fondly known by residents as the Fe, is a moderately-sized city located in Southeastern Texas. It is part of Galveston County and the 77510 Zip Code area. The Fe is just a short drive from such larger cities as Houston and Galveston and can be easily accessed from State Highway Six.

Brief History

In about 1877 when the railroad ran through the area that is now known as the Fe, three communities were developed on the land: Algoa, Arcadia and Alta Loma. For many decades, these communities steadily grew but remained individual. However, in the year 1978, government officials, along with the citizens' approval, decided to restructure the land. Alta Loma and parts of Arcadia were developed into one distinct community becoming the Fe that we know today.

Parks and Recreation

Residents of properties in the Fe enjoy spending their spare time at Mae S. Bruce Park, which can be found on Highway Six. Amenities you can enjoy while visiting Mae S. Bruce Park include shaded picnic areas, a gazebo for special events and modern playground equipment for the kids.
Another park that is close to homes in the Fe is Joe A. Tambrella Park located on 6th Street. This park offers a play area for kids, picnic shelters, barbecue grills and plenty of green space. Other parks in the area are Runge Park on Terry Street and Jack Brooks Park on Jack Brooks Road.
